Translating Light

We see the fullness of beauty

the form of space

the glint of a tear

and the ruby of a newly turned leaf

by the grace of light

Inspiration

Delight in the caress of silk

Breathe with every brush stroke

Dance with every molecule of water

My works on silk explore the elusive, seductive and emotive qualities of illumination

Roots

I live and work in the Washington DC Metro area as an artist and a registered architect. My parents were immigrants who arrived from South America in the 1960s. I am a wife, a mother and lucky to have a large, extended, connected, international family.

I have always been an artist. In 2006, I was introduced to silk painting and I continue to grow, experiment and learn. More recently, I have brought my sewing skills to the design and creation of silk garments.
